What drove me to change careers was my desire to set a good example for my children. After years of working as a warehouse manager, I decided to return to IT, choosing QA. The training was a challenge: for my very first assignment, I came up with a complex home server project, but that only helped me reinforce the theory. What inspired me the most was the hands-on experience with real SkillsUp projects—we hunted for bugs and worked with Jira, Postman, and Notion. For me, IT is like a narrow, rickety ladder that’s harder to climb than the comfortable stairs of my previous job. But it leads much higher! A huge thank you to our instructor Marina for her passion and the sparkle in her eyes. This crash course gave me what matters most: self-confidence and the realization that I should never give up.
I’d been wanting to try something new for a long time and make a change from my routine work with documents. Testing seemed like the most straightforward way to get started in IT. I chose SkillsUp based on recommendations from friends and because of its convenient format: I learned through video lessons at my own pace, which was perfect for my schedule. I used to think that QA was just “clicking around a website and writing a report.” It turned out I needed to know a bunch of tools and work with a huge amount of documentation! Not having a technical background didn’t hold me back at all. There were tough topics, and sometimes I had to redo my homework several times, but I gradually started to understand everything. So far, I’ve only built a foundation, and I plan to keep practicing and deepening my knowledge. But if you’re hesitating—just give it a try and see it through to the end!
I’m 17, still in 11th grade, and preparing for the NMT, but I decided not to just waste my savings—I wanted to invest them in my education. On my tutor’s advice, I enrolled in the QA program at SkillsUp. To be honest, it was tough at first. Without a technical foundation, the theory and working with requirements were tough—I had to Google a lot of terms or figure them out using neural networks. But once the hands-on part started—I was hooked! I especially loved testing a real project for a charity and writing test cases. I really got into working with Postman (I’d even like to get more practice with it). The course exceeded my expectations! Right now, I’m about 50/50 ready for a job, since I still need to pass my exams and bring my English up to B1. But as soon as I pass the NMT, I’m diving right into IT!
I took the “Data Analyst” course from SkillsUp, taught by Maxim Fedorov, and was very satisfied! The course gave me a clear understanding of the role of a data analyst and how data work is organized within a company. I had previously been introduced to various analytics tools, but didn’t know how to apply them correctly to solve real-world business problems.
The course curriculum was very well-structured: we covered analytics systems, product analytics, metrics, cohort and RFM analysis, A/B testing, data handling, and learned how to use Tableau. The combination of theory and hands-on exercises was particularly valuable—it helped me understand how to use data for product development.
After the course, I felt more confident working with data and understood how to take a systematic approach to analytics in real-world projects. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to become a true data analyst!
I completed the course “Diving into Project Approach in Life and Business,” taught by Marina Melnyk.
Thank you for the incredibly valuable information, which was presented in a structured and easy-to-understand way. The homework assignments were well-designed, helping me immediately reinforce what I’d learned and giving me the opportunity to make progress on my project.
Thank you, Marina, for your fantastic lectures. It was quite easy to stay engaged and interested despite the large volume of material. Your energy, professionalism, and ability to hold our attention made this learning experience both interesting and useful.
Thank you so much for your work!
